interlude

"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

I've been listening to Your Ex-Lover is Dead by Stars over and over again.
It is strangely calming.

Holidays have been pretty good so far. By tomorrow, i would have watched 5 movies.
So far i've seen Adam's Apples, Lovewrecked, The Devil Wears Prada and Singapore Dreaming.

Heidi and i watched 2 chickflicks on monday! We saw Lovewrecked (which would probably have been unsalvageable if not for Amanda Bynes and Jonathan Bennet. oh man Jonathan Bennet!!! the most gorgeous thing in chickflicks ever. hahahaha).
We had lunch at Vilage after that. Yummy food makes me high (:
And then we watched Devil Wears Prada. It was rather uneventful but the clothes were pretty. And seeing these barely there anorexic girls balancing on Jimmy Choos is rather entertaining.

Today Karen and i saw Singapore Dreaming. It's a really wonderful movie by Colin Goh and Woo Yen Yen. It warmed my Singaporean heart to the core, and it really makes you think about the state of life here.

When will we ever be happy?

What do we really want?

Do we know what we should want?

Tomorrow will be a farewell gathering for corinna. I'm sad she's leaving but i'm really happy that she's going to study overseas now, which is what she used to talk about in primary school.

And my cousin and i just discovered that we have the exact same taste in music!
Which is amazing because we live in different countries.
Which is why this is way cool (:

I think it's kind of tough that our family is spread out in so many different places.... singapore, perth, melbourne, malaysia, vancouver, toronto, san francisco, hong kong, shanghai...but i suppose we're almost doing the best we can to keep us all together.

Also, i have finished watching gilmore girls season 2! Plus special features on the dvd. "a film by kirk". HAHAHAHHAHHHAA. i had a laughing fit watching that.

yay for gilmore girls. I'm back to reading the library books i borrowed now.
Watchmen by Alan Moore is pretty good.

I realise there is a small similarity between that and Digital Fortress by Dan Brown.

In Digital Fortress there is this quote "Who will guard the guards?"
Which is Ensei Tankado's rationale for trying to get the NSA in trouble.
And in Watchmen there is "Who watches the watchmen?"

Who keeps tabs on the people in charge here?
