TEACHERS' DAY!!!
Amazingly exciting things are happening faster than i can write about them. Which is good i suppose (:
It's teachers' day today!! (Well tomorrow, but with all the pomp and circumstance my mind has been tricked into believing it's today.)
I suddenly remembered this teachers' day song we used to sing in primary school.
I think the words are something like this:
"Today's a special day (x2) for you and me.
We'd like to say (X2)
Happy teacher's day.
CHORUS:
Whoa-oh-oh happy teachers' day (x3)
To our dear teachers.
Thank you teachers (x2) for your kindness
We love you teachers (X2) now and forever
CHORUS"
Amusing isn't it. But today in rgs we sang Happy Teachers' Day to the tune of the birthday song.
ACES early in the morning was rather crazy, much due to the presence of some rather goofy teachers hahaha. Something along the lines of ridiculous flailing limbs, a lack of space and hilarious laughter.
And then during the concert arie and i finally got the see the juniors peforming animaniacs & pinky and the brain!! YAY. It was highly amusing because they added in some party horns and party percussion things. It made me all high and giggly. hahaha. i can't believe i just said that. Pseudonym was really really good too. They sang Beatles' songs! And then Mr Toh sang too, which is always good.
I went around hunting for the teachers to give them prezzies after that.
There was this group of people who gave mrlau and cow matching philo pals t-shirts.
The sight of them posing for a picture was priceless.
I was kinda ambivalent about going back to rv.. because i didn't think many people i know would be going, and who knows how few teachers i know are left. But then i bumped into terrence tan (or rather he very unglamorously boo-ed me at the busstop causing me to yell and almost drop digital fortress) and convinced me to go back. Haha. So i did, and i'm kind of glad i did. I saw lots of people i haven't thought about in a while and was rather glad that i can remember most of them.
I feel kind of bad because i haven't really kept in touch with most people from rv.
But life goes on and things can never stay the way they were when you were 12.
Friendship is supposed to be able to live on though, if it's meant to be. My mum has shown me that. Recently she's had reunions with her secondary school friends and bandmates from more than thirty years ago.
She says that once the rapport is built, even if you don't see each other for years and years, you can kind of pick up where you left off. But she did keep in contact with one friend every since they graduated from rgs; Aunty Margaret, and our even our families have become friends.
A.M is actually a year younger than my mum. But they are really really great friends.
Anyway, back to the rv visit. I think the teachers were glad to see us. It was particularly exciting to see Mrs Singh, Mrs Kumar, Mrs Chung, Miss Lee and Mr Loh again. Ooh and the noodle uncle and auntie! All of them don't look a day older. Especially Mr. Loh. He's still as hot as ever. Hahaha
Afternoon was spent leisurely reading Digital Fortress which jieshi has kindly lent me (: And then watching gilmore girls season 2 episodes back-to-back.
Life is good.
