captain jack is back!
PoTC 2 opened on thursday!!!
Because that's what the movie is all about, i decided to take a leap of faith and went to GV at great world 15 minutes before the 9.55 pm show. We were almost going to take 2nd row from the screen seats when the box office guy suddenly spotted 2 seats in the last row that were just-released uncollected tickets. How cool is that??
So i got to watch pirates on the opening day (: WOOHOO
It was awesome. Even though its sadder and ickier than the first film. If you thought they coudn't get any ickier than undead rotting skeletons then pirates 2 will prove you wrong. Davy Jones and his ugly semi-seabeast crew and the kraken and its yellow-goo-spit are icky beyond degree.
(Beware: slight spoiler ahead)
The sad thing is that it seems as if Jack Sparrow dies at the end of the film. And it seems to signify the end of the hilarious drunken swagger as we know it. But then if there's a pirates 3 obviously he isn't really dead. Still, it is sad because it looked like Jack Sparrow got chewed up by the mean sea beastie at the end of the movie.

Stay till after the credits, because there's something there. Oh and it is good to have a clear memory of the first movie so you'll get all the running jokes and the storyline won't be too confusing. And even though there are lots of funny moments it really isnt as light-hearted as the first film. The pain and reality of death looms closer. And Will Turner gets quite a surprise when he lands himself on the Flying Dutchman. You'll see.
